BRANSON, Mo., December 15, 2012 — With its spectacular location in the midst the natural wonders of Ozark Mountains, four distinct seasons, lakes and an assortment of live shows, attractions, shopping and other activities, Branson provides a unique experience for families, individuals and groups that has made it one of America’s primer travel destinations. In the normal context of thinking about Branson, even at this special time of the year when it is so often thought of, the word “gift” does not often come to mind in describing what Branson has to offer.

A definition of the term “gift” as it is generally used at Christmas is “something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation” and describes the ” presents” normally exchanged at this time of the year and that precious Gift that “Is the reason for the season.” However, another definition of the term “gift” is a “notable capacity, talent, or endowment” and it is that definition that truly makes Branson a unique “gift” among travel destinations not only during Christmas, but every day of the year.

Branson is “notably endowed” with more than 100 live entertainment shows filled with some of the most talented performers anywhere, three pristine lakes and the natural beauty of the Ozarks. Branson’s capacity to integrate and combine all of that with world class shopping and a variety of exciting fun filled attractions and activities would be notable anywhere, yet alone in a travel destination of its size, and speaks volumes about the “gift” that is Branson.

Is there another place in America where a person can be watching one of over 100 live shows less than 10 minutes away from a 45,000 plus surface acre aquatic play ground like Table Rock lake? Is it not notable that within five minutes of the heart of Historic Down Town Branson and all that it has to offer is Branson Landing with over 100 retail shops and restaurants, Lake Taneycomo with some of the finest trout fishing in the Midwest and sightseeing and dinner cruises with Main Street Lake Cruises Lake Queen or Landing Princess. And speaking of cruises, where else can one take a “voyage” aboard a half scale replica of the R.S.S. Titanic at an attraction like the Titanic Museum Attraction and less than 10  minutes later be enjoying a wonderful cruise on a lake like Table Rock Lake with dinner and great entertainment aboard the likes of the magnificent Branson Belle?

Is it not notable that Branson’s largest and most popular paid attraction, the award winning 1880’s styled theme park, Silver Dollar City is endowed with a “Natural National Landmark “Marvel Cave?” It’s also notable that its capacity to entertain thousands of guests each day has been integrated into the natural beauty from which it was hewn making the park a virtual part of the Ozark Mountains surrounding it and whose culture, history and crafts it preserves and shares with the world?

As notable as those tangible things are, it is an intangible element that makes Branson the special “gift” that it is. It is the notable capacity of those offering those things to do so while sharing the spirit of small town America, service, hospitality, patriotism, God and family that adds special meaning to the “gift” that Branson is blessed to share with the world.
