When asked, “Why, out of all the Branson lodging available for families to stay in, they should pick the Welk Resort?” Chris Cathcart, a Welk Resort Marketing Manager, immediately responded saying, “Welk Resort has it all.” He continued on saying “I could give you a million reasons expounding on that, but these just jump out, great location, a recent multimillion dollar remodel of the complete facility including all 159 guest rooms, large 2000 seat entertainment theatre, indoor ‘Splash-A-Torium,’ restaurant, and a selection of amenities and activities for all ages and interests that is matched by very few, if any, resorts in Branson.”

He explained that although it is ideally located, only minutes from Branson shows, attractions, shopping, Silver Dollar City and everything else Branson has to offer, that once people arrive at the resort everything they need for a complete fun filled vacation is on property. Among others, the recreational amenities include the “Splash-A-Torium,” an indoor/outdoor water attraction for children and adults limited exclusively to the resorts guests; an outdoor pool; game room with pool table, air hockey and much more; mini golf; complete fitness center and daily planned and scheduled activities through the resorts activities department. There are activities for all ages and interests including, among many others, Ceramic Painting, Toddler Bubble Time, Family Scavenger Hunts, Kinect Bowling, Casino Night and many more varying with the weather and season.

The resort, celebrating its 20th anniversary during 2014, opened in May of 1994. Its 159 room hotel underwent a total multi-million dollar renovation of its lobby, common areas, corridors and all 159 guest rooms and baths which was completed in June of 2013 making it one of the “newest” hotels in Branson. “We’re very proud to offer our hotel guests an all new guest room that enhances the value of their experience with us”, said Dathan Atchison, General Manager of The Welk Resort. “We have always made gracious service to our guests our foremost objective. Now, along with our other great amenities the Welk guests have come to expect, we are very excited about our new rooms and hotel upgrade, and believe our guests will be also.”

Cathcart points out that the vibrant colors and textures of each of the renovated rooms reflects the casual, warm and friendly culture of the Ozarks. Additionally each room contains new features such as granite vanities, a work space with an ergonomic desk chair, wall-mounted AC controls, desk lamps with easy reach dual outlets, mini-fridge, Welk Signature Ecology bath amenities, Seattle’s Best single cup coffee system and Starbucks’ Tazo Teas, which are complimentary.

“The resort provides a rustic flavored experience surrounded by luxury and convenience where you can experience the outdoors and beauty of the Ozarks away from all the traffic and bustle of the Branson Strip, has tons of fun and exciting activities available on property to entertain families and yet, is ideally and uniquely located to provide access to everything else Branson offers while minimizing involvement with Branson traffic,” Cathcart said. He points out that it’s 15 minutes away from Silver Dollar City via State Route 265, three minutes away from Lake Taneycomo’s Trophy Trout Fishing Area and the Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery, five minutes away from Table Rock Lake, six or seven minutes away from the Branson Strip and all its shows, attractions and shopping, has the Pointe Royale Golf Course just opposite to the resort entrance and is located within 20 minutes of Historic Downtown Branson and Branson Landing via Fall Creek Road and Branson’s ‘Yellow’ alternate route.

“In terms of its ideal location and access to Branson’s shows, attractions, lakes, golf, shopping and everything else Branson offers, coupled with its amenities, both recreational and on the hotel side, recent renovation, and the high quality of customer service that the Welk Resort is known for, it’s no surprise that the vast majority of our customers are delighted with the experience they have while staying at the Welk Resort,” said Tammy Johnson, the Director of Operations for the Branson Tourism Center (BTC), one of Branson’s largest and most respected vacation planning services.
