The Clay Cooper Theatre is proud to announce for one night only… Fifteen -Time Grammy Award - Winner Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder will be performing on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 7:30pm.
Ricky struck his first chords on a mandolin over 50 years ago, and he continues to do his part to lead the recent roots revival in music. Clearly his passion for it puts him in the position to bring his lively, distinctively American form of music out of isolation and into the ears and hearts of audiences across the country and around the world. Ricky Skaggs is always forging ahead with cross-cultural, genre-bending musical ideas and inspirations.
Ricky Skaggs is an outstanding country music singer-songwriter who has helped shape today’s music by introducing bluegrass sounds into mainstream country songs. His talent and genius influenced countless artists such as Keith Urban, Patty Loveless, and even Brad Paisley. He has earned many prestigious awards over his 42 -year career in the industry, including Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Dove Awards, among others which attest to how well respected he is in the business making him one of the best vocalists of all time
