Did you know that you can tour the actual original home of the main characters in Harold Bell Wright's book, The Shepherd of the Hills? Your tour guide will take you to the beautiful Old Matt's cabin, which stands in its original location, and is on the National Historic registry. You'll make a stop by Inspiration Point, Morgan Chapel Church, Uncle Ik's Post Office (newly restored), The Outdoor Drama set & a behind-the-scen blimpse of the nightly performance. a one-of-a-kind historically immersive experience you can only get at the Shepherd of the Hills farm tours!
The Shepherd of the Hills was the beginning of the Branson phenomena. People began pouring into this area to meet the characters and see the beautiful landscape Wright has so vividly described. Now you have the opportunity to visit the farm where the book was actually written! Enjoy a ride in an open-air Jeep-drawn tram through the wooded 160-acre farm with our Ozark Native tour guide.
