The Comets There's nothing like the real thing when it comes to good old rock 'n' roll, and that's just what you'll get when you see The Comets, of Bill Haley and the Comets. Real, live and authentic, The Comets' "the first band to fuse country and western with rhythm and blues to create rock 'n' roll" bring the golden era of rock alive in the beautiful Dick Clark American Bandstand Theater. Featuring all five of the surviving members of Bill Haley and the Comets, these legendary performers will knock your socks off when they perform such beloved hits as "Rock Around the Clock," "Shake Rattle & Roll," and "See Ya Later Alligator," as well as exciting all new material. David Somerville of the Diamonds An inductee in both the Vocal Group and Doo Wop Halls of Fame, debonair Dave Somerville was the original lead singer of The Diamonds. That flawless voice you know so well brings you golden greats like Little Darlin, The Stroll and Silhouettes in a set that takes us back to a more innocent time. Come experience the timeless, romantic essence of rock and roll cool! McKenna Medley The lovely McKenna Medley is a sight-to-see and a powerful voice you must hear for yourself! She has been around the music industry all her life and this young lady has definitely earned much respect for her beautiful vocals. McKenna was voted 2008 Best Local Solo Female Musician by 417 Magazine! McKenna says she is a “huge Connie Francis fan” and when she sings “Where the Boys Are”, it sounds incredible! Her vocal style is especially reminiscent of that great 50’s sound. She does a great tribute to some female singers at Bandstand. She has a clear, strong voice and you’ll love hearing her sing hits like “Lipstick on Your Collar”, “Da Doo Ron Ron (I met him on a Monday and my heart stood still”). “It’s in His Kiss”, “It’s My Party”, and “I’m Sorry”. McKenna also sings “My Boy Elvis”, which she tells the crowd was sung on American Bandstand in 1957. |
